Feminist, philosopher, cyclist

Samantha Brennan is the Dean of the College of Arts and a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Guelph.

Brennan’s main research interests lie in the area of contemporary normative ethics, particularly at the intersection of deontological and consequentialist moral theories. She also has active research interests in feminist ethics. Her most recent work is on children’s rights and issues of family justice.

Fit is a Feminist Issue started in 2012 when Samantha Brennan and Tracy Isaacs were both 48 years old and wanted to dedicate a blog to their journey of getting fit by 50. The blog began as a commitment to critiquing diet and fitness culture from a feminist approach.
